Hi all, My name is Ash, i'm based in Dorset (England) i've been riding for 15 years and i've had all manner of bikes over that period - from ZX10-R to XR250 and everything inbetween. Most recently i've been in 'phase 2' and am on the less rapid, cooler loking bikes and i've had a couple of Triumph bikes over the past couple of years. I originally had an 865 EFI Bonnie that i absolutely loved, I then customised a BMW R9T but, though i loved the power and the handling, i yearned for that Triumph sound so i flogged it and bought a 2018 Street Twin that i purchased in September. I have to admit, i didnt ride the Street Twin prior to purchase and i naively assumed it would be pretty much the same as the 865 bike, how wrong i was! I've spent the past couple of months getting the ST up to my standard, i loved the low down torque but i was disappointed with the lack of top end, especially after the 865. I was also annoyed with the low seat height. To date i have installed the Camshaft upgrade, K&N filter with de-snorkel on the airbox, remus straight thru headers and USA spec V&H pipes... needless to say, it sounds amazing and it actually has some useable power now (perhaps top 60's BHP). It also has a Crafton Atelier seat, adding 1.5" to the seat height. I'm just about to fit LCL headlight brackets and i have a T120 tank arriving soon - i basically shouldve bought a T100 or T120 but i got a seriously low mileage ST that was still under warranty, plus i like the more contemporary look of the ST. Anyway.... I've not been on the forum before but i'm looking for some advice and help with future modifications so i'll bash those questions in the correct forums. Nice to meet you all Cheers
Hello and welcome to the forum, Ash! Thanks for sharing a photo of your Triumph with us. Hope you enjoy the forum and I'm sure you'll lots of helpful advice and info on mods from forum members here.
Great introduction, Ash. And welcome ! I admit I am befuddled with the many variations of the Bonneville that Mr. Bloor has produced. I am familiar with the 1969 Bonneville T120R I rode as a youngster, followed by the 1974 Trident I purchased 'new'. The America I ride now was a gift from my oldest son. I like it a lot !
