Yep, l would be looking for an air leak between throttle body and head, l had a similar issue with one of my previous bikes :unreliable tickover cutting out when warm etc, turned out to be an inlet leak but took me ages to pinpoint it. At low throttle settings there is quite a vacuum in this area and even the smallest leak will bugger things up.
Just a quick update, Fitted the new ECU today and uploaded the correct map for the exhaust etc. Blooming thing is still the same :/ I have some replacement throttle body rubbers to fit tomorrow as thats about the last thing i can think is causing this issue........
New rubbers would have been my first check point. As its probably the cheapest but most time consuming option. Pulling it all apart to get new rubbers is a pain. Had a good friend who had same issue with a Laverda 1000 , did all the same symptoms. New "0" rings on Aluminium manifolds and new rubber tubing and it ran perfect.
Rights peeps, Fitted the replacement rubbers, Reset TPS, checked ICV all good. Ran it up the road to get some fuel. Blipped the throttle at the next set of lights and it wanted to cut out. Park up side stand down blipped throttle fine. Side stand up Blipped the throttle it cut out. Side stand down Blipped the throttle i didnt cut out. Side stand up Blipped the throttle it cut out. Repeated this a few time not once with the Side stand down did it cut out? Only when it was up did it cut out, Then i rode it aprox 5 miles home tried to get it to play up and it wouldnt Confused lol Is there anyway of disconnecting the side stand switch ride it about and see if it plays up before i buy a new one?
I'm sorry, I really don't know,but as someone who went through similar with a Daytona, I'm glad you're making progress with this - looks likely that you're there now. Fingers crossed for you!
Okey dokey, Scrub that lol, After seeing how cheap a 2nd hand switch was i thought sod it, I disconnected plug on the switch part of the loom joined the Black and the brown wire, Reconnected into the bikes loom and took her for a short ride. AND NOPE lol, i think im going to have to live with it Saved myself £30 on a new switch anyway doh... Thanks for everyones help though
Just a thought could this be fuel level related owing to the side stand down no cut out different fuel level/loading on pump?
No its not fuel related whilst doing the side stand bit the bike was upright with me sitting on it. Brand new fuel level sensor too. doh
Thought I would ask, generally when dealing with this problem on cars its usually down to IACV and associated pipework it does sound like a vacuum leak to me, but you have changed the pipework so maybe a leak somewhere else on the intake.....due to the high vacuum when the throttle is closed again.
Agreed i think it sounds completely like a Intake leak, But the plugs are burning the correct colour so is the lambda sensor. No fault codes either. Idle control valve was replaced 2k ago with associated pipe work. Which i double checked today as i had it all apart. Im stumped :/
If the side stand switch and the kill switch or some other wire are shorting at the throttle when the grip is turned ( blipped) that could explain a sudden kill/off signal. Perhaps check the wiring in your right hand grip?
Were the iacv rubber tubing genuine triumph parts or if not, was it vacuum quality silicon tube? I believe there can be issues with it crimping or deforming if the 6mm(i think it was) tubing is not labelled as vacuum quality. My T509's tubing was replaced by some from ebay and it cured the lumpy unreliable tickover for me , along with as I said previously, adjusting the throttle cable correctly.
The IAC was done by a Motorcycle Shop, and tbh look well done. Re the Grip, The cables are not snagging on the loom anywhere but understand your thinking i had the Throttle grip replaced genuine triumph and the cables adjusted again by a Motorcycle shop at the same time. Think i will run the BIke through this winter as intended and By a Jap in the spring. I apreicate all of your imputs people
Im sure if this could be a issue, BUT.... When i Reset the TPS the indicator always go's Amber not Green?? Does this point to a Issue? can it be reset so it indicates Green? Using TuneEcu btw.
