That reminds me of the time I rode my mates TriBsa. It was like the engine was attached to the frame with mainstand springs. Just sat there on tick over, the bike seemed to be doing a jig.

My first Triumph is the 2018 Thruxton 1200 r. Bought it without ever riding it, went to pick it up, and rode it for 2.5 hours, loved every minute.

Tiger 100 in black and silver. Started out with a BSA C11G 250 on my 16th birthday, passed my test a couple of months later and traded it in for the Triumph. As was the trend I soon ditched the bathtub etc and fitted alloy mudguards and a set of ace bars. Kept it about a year and traded up to a Bonneville.

    My current speed rs 18.
It just felt right on the first ride and bought it after the test ride.
Love it and love the thought of having it in the shed.
I can easily spend the afternoons just staring at the little details.

My first Triumph was a rigid rear Tiger Cub and passed my test on it in1967, it wasn't my first bike though. The Tiger Cub led me into a love affair with Triumph Motorcycles. I have been blessed over the years and owned all makes and models, from sports bikes to trials bikes. I've restored a fair few, however the classics are something of a money pit. I swapped a 1956 T100 I restored in September 2019 for a new Street Triple 765rs, then traded that for another new one in late September 2020. I have put a pic on of the T100, but sadly none for the Tiger Cub. Ride safe all.

My first taste of a Triumph was when I was 17. Had the FS1-E moped at the time. A mate lent me his 1956 500 Speed Twin. High handlebars, stripped of all bathtub related bits, megaphone "silencers". Loved it so much I bought it off him a year or so later after I passed my test. Many a fond memory of breaking down, being stranded in the middle of nowhere, rebuilds and oil leaks - ah those were the days!!!

It would be around 1968/9 and it was a mates Bonnie. It had ape hangers, high level pipes, the sort that rise vertically at the rear wheel and are as high as the rider, and if I remember correctly he’d put slugs in the forks to extend them. At that time man was that as cool as fcuk!

Another geezer here, well in the US. actually. My third motorcycle and first Triumph was a '59 Tiger Cub. It was rather difficult to live with, it built "character" I'm kind of surprised I ever bought another Triumph much less joined this forum.

My first and only bike is my Thruxton 900 I own and presently pamper. Funny, during the years of my youth I dreamed of a Harley, so I bought a Triumph later in life.

I hit the "funny" emoji because I bought a Harley AND a Triumph as I got older. ;) They are not mutually exclusive...for me at least. :)

My first Triumph was my 2012 Explorer and still got it. Traded my Harley Dyna Super Glide for it
Explorer is a great bike now coming up to 50,000 miles. Mileage would be a lot more but lucky enough to have had second bikes for last few years which has kept the Explorer miles down!

Handsome husband rides his Norton to go fast (not so much of that lately), the Harley softtail if he wants to be more comfortable, and the Triumph when he wants to have more fun (after he fixes the clutch cable that broke last week). And he's thinking a Scrambler would be a cool next. So there's a place for everything  (just not in the budget or garage:confused:).

Rode chums' old Bonnies back in the 80s, and while working a courier in London bought a Tiger 650 off a colleague in 86.

I have never ridden anything so unreliable - in the end he bought it back off me for what i'd given him because he 'enjoyed tinkering'!

It was the original Speed Triple in the 90s that attaraced me to the brand again, but it wasn't until 2019 that I finally got another Triumph.
