I was 18. 1978. Back in the day you could have a 250cc with L plates. I had a 250 Suzuki Super 6. What a death trap. Anyway, my mate gave me his 750 Bonny as he'd lost his licence. I didn't care about licences. I rode that damn thing all over the Pennines, Lancs to Yorks, never got stopped. Crazy really..
09 Speedmaster Easily the worst handling bike I have ever owned I liked it for some unknown reason but it really was that bad
2004 Sprint 955i. Bought it new from Action motorcycles in Redditch. We toured France in 05 and rode to Italy in 06 Great bike, no pictures, sorry.
Tiger cub about 1969, cot a fiver, forever conking out, bought of a numpty who plugged it into the mains to try and start it, I had to renew the wiring . but I thought I was the dogs when I was out on it.
Triumph Street Triple 675 2016. Relatively recent compared to some, but the best move I made going from Kawasaki to Triumph. Never looked back
July 1966 a few weeks before my 16th birthday bought a Tiger Cub ready for the big legal day. Not only was it the first Triumph that I owned and rode legal on the road it was a pile of crap. Probably because I had to ride it flat out everywhere trying to(unsuccessfully)keep up with my mates on their Jap bikes.
My first Triumph was a pushbike too, mind you I think the seed was sown when my uncle took me up the road on the back of his Thunderbird at the tender age of 7....I was scared shitless ...but I must have secretly loved it.
1971 my brothers Triumph Trail Blazer 250cc, brand new. Pile of crap, spent most of its first year back at the factory for a variety of faults.Triumph had rubber mounted the speedo and headlamp because the vibes were that bad. Couldn't hang on to it over 70mph. Strangely the girls liked riding pillion on it.
In 1982 bought one of these second hand for £500 a 1961 beauty not fast, handled odd, but had soul and personality in spades Swapped it for T100T a couple of years later, which then got chopped and the slippy slope started
My first ride on a triumph was a mates 21 3TA back in 1970. My first triumph I owned was a sprint st 1050
My first Triumph was a 1960 5TA Speed Twin - bought in 1967 and bog standard. This meant that it got stripped of the 'bathtub' and nacelle headlight etc. It got clip-ons, racing seat, alloy mudguards and short reverse cone meggas etc. The original bodywork was eventually slung. Worth a bloody fortune these days!
Trying to make 'the bike for all seasons'. An attempt to keep the rider clean(ish) and dry(ish). Hmmmmm .....
