thanks again everyone - getting into it now and found out how to upload a picture - I think I duffed up the profile - but anyway ! so my first question is ( being a novice and all that) "has anyone got a scrambler and decided to change the knobbly tyres to road tyres - what ones did they use and what difference did it make ? I am very confident cornering in the dry with warmed up tyres but slight bit of wet and my bottle goes
Hi GGC welcome in to a excellent forum, many scrambler owners on here that know what you what you are experiencing sorry to say I am not one off them as for profile some of us me included have also made the same mistake.
Hi, I'm also a new owner of a Scrambler - and I have the same question about choice of road tyres. Elsewhere on the forum it is noted that the knobblies are sketchy in the wet, and whilst they look great, they're not great on the road. Another thread recommends Avon Trailriders. I'm half way to my first service, and plan to swap tyres then.
ok - 13 hours in and I realise there is tons of information about this in the Forums ! - Scrambler Si we seem to have the same bike / age wise etc so lets stay in touch - G
Absolutely! There seems to be a group of recently new Scrambler owners (and interested others), especially on the Classics / Scrambler threads. See you there!
I would recommend Avon AM26 Roadriders. I had them on my T100 for 4 years and two sets and the grip in the wet,in particular, was very reassuring.
Me too - had the Roadriders on the Bonnie and have Metzelers on the Trident - not too keen. hard wearing but seem a bit skittish on some corners.
