Hi all I am new to forum so I'm not sure how to start . I bought 2004 Triumph Bonnaville T100 at the end of January this year I love riding it but unfortunately I haven't got a garage and I think the elements are reaching it. and unfortunately there are rust spots appearing on the wheel rims. So my question is this can someone tell me the best way of getting rid of the spots I've got and to stop them appearing in the future your help would be greatly appreciated.

    Chromed rims?
Try the old standby ... Solvol Autosol followed by a good quality wax car polish.
I would also be tempted to use ACF50 wiped over the rims to keep rust at bay whilst garaged outside. Just don't go mad with it - getting it on tyres and brakes is not to be recommended!!:eek:

Wouldn't surprise me ... Coke, apparently, makes a good penetrating fluid. Heaven knows what it does to your insides if you drink it!!:eek:

    Welcome to the forum Redbox

That used to be an old trick used to clean and revitalise silver jewellery etc, not sure about using it on chrome motorcycle
rims though !!!! the mind boggles, your going to need a canny big bowl to place them in and a hell of a lot of coke !!!!
I would Stick to using it on vodka, takes ya mind off the rust, - lol

Welcome in RB66 I would not use the tin foil personally as this may damage the chrome plating and coke will leave surface sticky, I would go with stevethegoolie good advice.

Go the goolie route! There are posts about acf50 if you need to read up about them, watch the spokes by the nipples too!

Hi and welcome to the forum.
I've used the kitchen foil with plain water (not coke) and it works well on badly rusted chrome - there's some sort of chemical reaction goes on.
The Enfield had some rust on the chrome rims and it's all but disappeared now but I do keep them covered with ACF-50 as the bike is under cover but outside.
