    Fwiw I don't like using screw extractors, if they snap you're truly buggered.
    If it doesnt unscrew my pref would be drilling it out, going up from teeny drills in 1mm steps.
    If you're lucky you get to a stage where the old bolt jut collapses

    Can't you use a racers friend (zip tie) on it mate just to hold that side temporary until you can get some decent drill bits?

    As long as it is secure plod can't really do much as it is a 'temporary' repair to allow you to get the parts you need to effect a permanent repair mate.

    @Duckadiledundee if they are checking tyres and such, they might have you dead to rights. That front look about as bald as a cue ball.

    you beat me to that Hobnail .... that tyre is fooked - would never pass muster.... re bolt.... i'd take it into a garage you trust.. admit what you've done and get them to sort it....i don't even try to get bolts out these days as i have always made a right bastard of a mess of it........however if you are trying yourself start small in the center of that hole and work upwards in drill size.... slowly...then when most is gone try using an "easy out" extractor...... or drill through and rethread.... just take time over it....and good luck

    Around 80£ for a renown brand.
    I'm also at this point, front and rear.. killed a 80% fit front tire in 3000 km o_O.

    This is the definition of legal requirements for motorcycle tyres :-

    At least 1.0mm throughout a continuous band across at least 3/4 of the breadth of the tread and around the entire circumference. The original tread pattern must be visible in the remaining quarter.

    I understand that if any part of the tread pattern has been worn away within that remaining quarter it's an automatic fail, regardless of the tread depth elsewhere. Fine is up to £2,500 and 3 points PER TYRE.

    The way I do it (as I get through a lot of tyres with the racing) is buy them on line at the cheapest I can find & then take the wheels & new tyres to a tyre fitter, they charge between £7.50 & £15 a wheel to fit & balance.

    Or you can elect for a drive in, drive out option which is normally more expensive but considerably easier!

    I have a couple sets of Pirelli Super Corse & Metzler race tyres 120/70 fronts, 180/55 (1) + 190/60 (1) rears all with loads of tread in the middle if any one wants a set for cost of posting PM me.

    That's not due to my poor riding skills. I live in mountain, and the fork was really bad. Now the fork is fully revised, setup and I'm sure next tyre will last longer.. I hope.. On my BMW s the front lasted 15000 km.
