To all Members and Moderators of the Triumph Forum.
Having recently had more spare time on my one good hand than I know what to do with I have been keeping abreast of the goings on and general postings on this esteemed forum.

Recently it seems that there has been a marked increase in membership of people like myself who qualify as members of the 'born again bikers', 'the silver haired generation' or 'baby boomers'.

May I suggest that consideration be given to a new forum for us 'old gits', or 'old f&rts' who by sheer good fortune were born in the 1950's and 60's and having survived the pit falls of life in general, the days before compulsory crash helmets and old unreliable British bikes and the influx of 'Jap-Crap' have returned to the pleasures of biking as they approach their dotage.

Although not quite ready for the twin cylinder Zimmer frame, us oldies are becoming more common on the UK roads. Whether this is as a result of the free orange juice and school milk we had as wee sprogs, have more disposable income, more spare time, trying to regain our long lost youth, delayed mid-life crisis or, are just plain crazy who knows but a forum for us of a 'certain age' maybe appreciated by others of a similar age group and membership of said forum may even be something for the younger members to aspire to.
After all and to paraphrase an old adage:
"there old bikers and bold bikers but, no old bold bikers"
    Thank you for your attention
    :D

I remember the free Orange, my mum used to collect it from the local clinic along with jars of Malt Extract with Cod Liver Oil.. Back then we had it tough... We used to have to get up out of the shoebox at twelve o'clock at night, and LICK the road clean with our tongues. We had half a handful of freezing cold gravel, worked twenty-four hours a day at the mill for fourpence every six years, and when we got home, our Dad would slice us in two with a bread knife.

Good morning crispey, that would be a problem for me.

By the time I'd gone from this post to the search facility I'd have forgotten what I was looking for :)

Well it did you no harm did it apart from being mentally scarred from doing it, the strange thing that comes with age is how you remember what happened years ago but cannot remember what happened yesterday.

Malt extract and cod liver oil? Ain't that what you put on old doc martins? (Or to be used as face cream for people working outside in the elements?) heh heh heh

Hi all. From all responses it seems like I should have suggested a retirement home where Ovaltine and Horlicks are on tap along with comfy chairs and slippers.
