I am a newbie here looking to get some info. on the new street twin.

I have been riding most of my adult life, beginning with a Suzuki 125 and then continuing on to a Yamaha 350 and Honda 350. Next a Yamaha 750 and then a Yamaha 1100 and finally a Yamaha Road Star. Most all of my riding has been strictly one-up.

At my age, I am now looking for something to downsize with and after doing some research, the new Triumph Street Twin looks like a great choice. Plus, I have always wanted to own a Triumph.

The only issues I have are some negative reviews I've seen on the 2015 Bonneville concerning fuel injection problems and a harsh ride. I need to know if the 2016 street twin has addressed these issues satisfactorily.

Anyone who can advise me on anything positive or negative on the new 2016 Street Twin will be most appreciated. I would also appreciate any info. regarding a good set of bags for this bike.

    Thanks for your help.

All of the reviews for 2016 street twin have been very positive with people only really saying they dont like the mirrors.
I've never owned a older triumph but I test rode a street twin and bought one, I though it was fantastic.
Check out YouTube for the reviews you won't be disappointed

    Hi Gus and welcome in.

Re the Speed Twin,it appears to address many of the issues inherent in previous models and most reviewers are very impressed by the overall ride quality, fit and finish.

As you know motorcycles are very personal things so really the only way forward for you is to try one. Make sure you can try it for at least an hour, so you really get into the swing of 'er. Then pay your deposit because you are going to like her, a lot !!!! ;):):)

Thanks for the reply. Yep, I've seen all the YouTube vids, but I'm pretty much thinking that most of those riders were getting some bucks, uh I mean Euros, for their positive reports, from Triumph? Talking to someone who actually owns one, such as yourself, means a whole lot more to me, so thanks again very much. I've already figured on replacing the mirrors.

Having watched all those YouTube vids, I've pretty much made my mind up to get one. Just wanted to hear some positive reviews from actual riders. Since the Triumph dealer here in KC is located way the hell away from me, I'll probably just call them up and have them deliver one in my choice of color. Probably not the smartest thing to do, but it's got everything I want plus I love the looks of it. Plus, we old dudes realize if we want something, we'd better strike while the iron's hot, as the old saying goes. I can't imagine not loving to ride it, you know? As long as I can throw some bags on it and maybe a windshield, I'll be good to go! But, thanks very much for the time you took to respond.

Thanks for the welcome. I really doubt I need a test ride to convince me I need one and need it NOW! Having watched all the YouTube vids I think I have enough info. to make a good decision about this bike. I mean with the water cooling, ABS brakes and all the rest of the great features this ride has, not to mention its great price, I'll probably just be calling my dealer and asking him to deliver one, especially considering he is located many, many miles from where I live. Plus, at my age, I'm not gonna be putting a ton of miles on it anyhow. So thanks again for responding to my post.

Now I just have to decide on which color and see what other mirror options are available. Getting pretty pumped up to get back out on the road again. Thanks..........................
