It really wasn’t difficult. The instructions were very clear and kit includes everything you need. You reuse some parts from forward controls per instructions. You’ll need low end torque wrench (as low as 6) if you want to be precise about the settings. You might want a mate to work with to sense check what you’re doing and to help hold exhaust in place when refitting. Destination Triumph in Sussex mechanic I spoke to said he hadn’t done one, so he would have been doing exactly what we did but saved probably a couple of hundred on labour costs. Be brave and trust yourself. On a scale of 1 to 10 difficulty I would say no more than a 4.

Mid controls installed. The install was easier than I thought. Definitely can lean the bike more without scraping the pegs. I like the way they feel, so next is probably a handlebar change. Looking for ideas but in no hurry.

I know this is an old post but perhaps someone can assist me. Where did you guys find install instructions?

Triumph printed a copy off for me. Didn’t charge. They will have it on their workshop manual. But I did buy the kit from them.

I’ll see if I can find anything on line in UK for you or if my local dealer will email them.

That would be amazing. Hopefully the bike will arrive in the next week or so. The mid controls are supposed to be here this weekend. Have a bunch of parts and accessories but no bike.

Yes. the instructions were a godsend. Simple. One exhaust clamp was a bit of a pain but other than that, no problem. Made a tremendous difference in riding the bike. My feet still want to go backwards to rear sets. But this is very comfortable. Love the bike. Had me considering trading the zx14r in on a new vespa lol

I wish Triumph would offer the heel-tow shifter for the Speedmaster. I sure like it on my early models.

I modded my ‘09 Speedmaster with a Thruxton tank, bobbed rear fender, and the Norman Hyde mid mounted foot controls. Those are nice parts but split my feet out making it hard to grip the knee pads. With the Thruxton tank, FYI, I lost all of the wind protection the original fuel tank provided - and that was the new wide, flat tank to accommodate the fuel pump for EFI. IT MATTERS!

I love it, but it literally blows my feet off the pegs once I top 80 mph. The knee pads are a necessity, and it’s a workout just trying to stay in the saddle. Stupid fun to ride, but anything more than 30 minutes gets to be tiring if it’s all highway. Not a travel bike in that configuration.

I may be incorrect, but I thought the floorboard kit adds a heel toe shifter.

Pretty sure the two were mutually exclusive. I had the heel-toe shifter added before delivery but never regretted not having floorboards. Those with floorboards found it hard to put the side stand down.

many a 10-11 hour day in the saddle and I always found plenty of different places to put my boots to change up the riding position. My favorite place when underway on the highway for long stretches was the pillion pegs. When they changed the bike to the taller front tire and the single disc up front that eliminated that as an option. Even my 2009 was never as comfortable with feet on pillion pegs as my 2004 is, the only difference being the peg hangers.

Hi sorry for late reply...not stock but straight bars as used with 'maverick' set up or Bobber.
