So my speed twin is out for the 1st time since last September today, Its been all covered up on a stand waiting for firstly, some decent weather, and secondly this bloody lockdown to end. I have a Tiger I use through the winter months. I got to say, you trend forget the joy of riding these speed twins until you get back on it, brilliant thing it is. Anyway, I stop to fuel it and a guy filling next to me in a van comes walking around the bike having a look, "not seen anyone actually out on one of these yet" he says. I reply, "first time this ones been out 7 months". So riding away I am thinking to myself, in fact I don't remember seeing another one out riding either! I was of the understanding that Triumph sold loads of these. I was lucky enough to get mine fairly early last year, but I do remember these bikes being slow to arrive and people waiting for them to turn up last year. So, wondering, how many did triumph actually sell and how many are in the UK? Anyone know?
Hi Darkman, Do you and Sue have black one and get them from 3X, as last year, i got chatting to a couple while waiting for mine, they had some Fiesta ST dust caps on them with red bolts on the rear sprockets, was that you?.
According to ‘how many left’ 776 sold last year and 30 in 2018 in the Uk https://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/vehicle/triumph_speed_twin#!newreg
Thanks for that, its quite an interesting site. So there actually isnt that many around. I ironically happened to spot one just south of Tunbridge wells only a couple of days ago. First one I have seen on the road.
Speaking with one of the sales team at East Birmingham Triumph this week, he told me the Speed Twin has been one of their best sellers recently... Good bunch of guys at the dealership, by the way - very helpful
