My wife and I visited from Ireland in 2019. We visited San Sebastian Bilbao La Guardia Potes Santillana del Mar and Llanes, we will defo return... brilliant.
We’ve been to Northern Spain (Picos)quite a few times over the years, love the place and the people. In the early days of our visits it was no where near as popular as it is today. Climbed the tower of Hercules a few times at La Corruna and always enjoy stopping at Ribadesella for lunch. Ventured further south and stayed in to Zamora,Toledo,Merida,Segovia and the wall city of Avila. Most of the accommodation we have stopped in are Paradors
Hello and welcome! Another Spain fan here! Went along inland from the Picos to Santiago, loads of walkers on the pilgrim trail in the middle of nowhere and into Portugal a couple of years back. Did not have the best of starts as I thought I had brought the Scottish weather with us, but I guess that is why it is that green! Quiet roads, great views, cheap beer, strong cider, huge tapas, friendly locals. Dont know when we will be back but going round that coast line is on the to do list.... and now we have a guide
Stramasher, Thank you so much for you coment. I hope you can come some day and take that path that you have pending. See you on the pilgrims' path.
