You are so right about it being like getting hit by a car, JtC. Check out this video about two separate instances of eagle rays jumping into boats--the outcome in the first instance was far better than that of the second. Rays, especially eagles and mantas, are very powerful.

Spinner sharks have almost landed on you, @Danimal? I'm curious...what do you do on a boat that has sharks almost landing on you?

 

I remember seeing on Blue planet I think a whole group doing this. Jump to middle of this clip to see similar. Truly awesome.
