    Hi everyone...
I’ve got a 2017 Street Triple RS 765.. I’ve had it 2 months, love it but I’ve noticed on the last few rides that it often won’t change down when I want to change down gear using the clutch (no auto blipper)..
Not ideal when heading towards a bend at speed and you need the correct gear for the corner... it’s intermittent.. sometimes it rarely happens but whilst out today it might takes 3 or 4 attempts to change down...
No problems at all changing up gears, either using the clutch or the quick shifter..
Anybody else have the same issue on their STrs?
    All the best

I have the same bike but a 68 plate and the gearbox is faultless. Mines now on 7k miles, how many miles on yours?
Is it a specific gear the issue occurs on or is it any downchange?

make sure that you are fully releasing the gear lever between downshifts. Also just check your clutch freeplay.

    Hi..
I bought the bike at 7k miles.. now on 8500..
It happens on various gears when changing down.. I’ve checked the clutch and obviously take extra care on the gear changes to eliminate rider error issues.. my main problem is my nearest triumph dealer is 180 miles away

If you can’t get to your dealer I would start with the basics and oil the cable and check the route of the cable also take the pin out of the lever and clean and grease, the gear lever can be split and greased which is a simple job that needs doing regular to keep your gear changing slick, to pull it apart there are some pins that pull out, I can’t send you and pics of pins as I’ve sold my RS, triumph are terrible for not correctly greasing pins, levers, bearings etc.

Thanks Shaun....I’ll try that, I’m crossing my fingers that it’s something minor like that

It probably is something simple ,it’s always best to start at the beginning, good luck.
