Any one selling an on bike camera please let me know. Or suggestions as to what to go for something basic is good for me. Joe.
Streetgirl My Darling wife has just ordered me something simpler that she said i may be able to use and if i do actually use it she will treat me later to a gopro. Regards Joe.
I’ve got a Drift Stealth that I’ve had a few years now. Only paid about £50 for it new and I can clip it onto the bike in a variety of positions. I don’t use it very often to be honest, but have used it for touring Scotland and a few other longer rides, and the quality of the footage is excellent. I think Drift have now dropped it from their range and replaced it for an improved version with more bells and whistles on. https://driftinnovation.com/
I have had a few Go Pro cameras and the quality of the unit and Go Pro after sales is absolutely crap. Will not waste money on Go Pro again. I have just bought a Parkcam x20c from Amazon at £36 which includes a remote control and millions of fixing options. Admittedly 4K quality is not brilliant but for bike use, and in particular evidence gathering if ever needed, it is perfect and it also comes with two batteries or if the waterproof case is adapted, a usb permanent power source can be fitted. The camera even has a touch screen and can be set to loop record which is ideal for the bike.
The Drift X model seems to have increased in price recently Was around£100 now £125 on Amazon Weather resistant and good battery I have an older Drift model about 3 years old and runs very well Streamline and high quality video Usexa large capacity micro SD memory card 128 gig)
Dilli, that definitely looks like something you might concoct in your garage! I particularly like that the design integrates the "camera" into the helmet rather than attaching it to the bike.
That's great, Joe! She is a darling wife to do that for you. Perhaps the way to a man's heart is an onboard camera and a GoPro and not really through his stomach?
Freck Yes got my camera today. it is called a AKASO 4K Edition. But i now have to get a memory card. Regards Joe
Adrian Braithwaute Strangely my boy just said the same he used to have them for racing just said he would never have another. Regards Joe.
Sandi T. Yes she is and i know it well. Just wait till Friday and see what she has purchased for me. Well i paid 2 grand she paid the rest quite a lot more than i did. Think she noticed i was down a little lately so decided i needed something to buck me up. Show you Friday or Saturday. How are you these days any way. Brotherly love. Joe.
Streetgirl Sure will but i am a complete novice was going to say Idiot. so maybe it would be better to ask the sane peeps. I am waiting for my Boy to download me some photos of his new race bike and i want to show them to you and Bad Billy. So watch this space. Regards Joe.
Good lord that is a coincidence! I had the same model arrive today to replace Lady Poppy's intermittent Drift Ghost X which lasted about 18 months. Shame as it was very good when it worked. The Akaso is already mounted on her bicycle for now and I'll be interested to see how the footage looks in comparison tomorrow after she's been for a spin.
I have an Akaso E7000 4k and a Drift Ghost XL. I think the Akaso footage is clearer and its GoPro mount compatable so lots of cheap bits. I’d get a couple of high powered batteries and a 128gb micro sd card and your sorted
Wow. It sounds exciting Joe! I will keep a lookout. These past days, weeks and months have been tough on a lot of people. Try not to let them get you down Joe. Your better half sounds like a lovely person
Looking forward to seeing those pictures Joe Where does he race? Is it a club series or is he part of the BSB paddock? Excuse my ignorance for not knowing this already
@joe mc donald Well, it's Saturday, Joe, so I'm thinking you should have your on bike camera by now based on the ETA you mentioned in your post. I'm quite curious to see it! Your wife is quite a gem to purchase such a lovely motorcycle-related gift for you to help cheer you up. I'm doing well these days considering the world's circumstances! I hope that you are feeling a bit more chipper this weekend. Sisterly love, Sandi
