So the bikes are both run in and the first 500 service done, we had the decat done before collecting the bikes as part of the deal and should have had V&H cans as well but they did not arrive in time so eventually got them done on the first service this week :) They sound good with a deeper smoother note and we will get some miles on them before i decide on drilling the baffles. As we are both tippy toe on the bikes i have found some YSS shocks that allow me to lower the rear 10mm and they also have nice spring adjusters and rebound adjustment as well making it nice n easy to set the sag for us both and i have gone with the standard spring and Su has the next one down as she is lighter than me, i have also dropped the yokes over the legs 10mm to keep the trail the same for now. First impressions of both of us riding my bike with the mods and Su's bike standard back to back are good so i will get Su's bike done next :)

Both bikes done now as i was waiting for some spacers for Su's bike that go in the bottom mount, Surprising how just 10mm front n rear make all the difference. Su is now both feet flat foot and i have a good part of the ball of my feet down and a bonus they look good.

How do you rate the Yss shocks versus Hagon or Ohlins on quality and function? Been looking at all of these for my Street Cup and can’t really make up my mind as I’ve not seen any of them in the flesh so to speak.

I have used them before and rate them very highly for £300.00 a pair they are certainly the best for value, better than Hagon and a close match for the much dearer Ohlins :)

I have a question about the YSS shocks. What are the measurements of this shock? 390mm? What do you think of the quality?

Hi, i have fitted 375mm shocks that lower the bike 10mm on the rear and dropped the yokes 10mm to keep the geometry the same.

Thanks! Do you know the original measurements of the rear shocks?

Quick question - any reason you didn't use the original spacer that is used for the stock shock?

Also how are you finding clearance between the top of the shock and the frame after now having them fitted long term? Did you fit spacer washers or leave as is?

    Thanks

Hi, in June 2019 YSS did not make a specific rear shock for the Speed Twin so i just bought a pair of 10mm shorter shocks off the shelf and modified both mounting holes/spacers top n bottom to fit the bike, there are no washer/spacers fitted other than the outer retaining washer at the top and no clearance issues.
