Was out in the rain with the missus on pillion. Stopped for a brew and met my mate (also on an America) with his missus on pillion. Following the wimin folk, noticed that both their backs were soaking wet and covered in road filth.
So being a bit of a professional shed fettler, I knocked this together out of an old GSXR numberplate hangar and bought a Triumph badge.

    What do you think?

Before I fitted the badge, but gives idea of size in proportion to rear fender.

I think that is an excellent idea - let's be honest if our wimmin are happier, the world is a better place ;);););)

Great idea we have noticed the muck being thrown up and as" Wide states you wonder how with the mudguards they have on.See you managed to park on the Whitesands, not a normal situation with the floods we've seen!!

Looking at the fenders, you would think there wouldn't be a problem ????? But hopefully this solves or at least reduces it. Got a wee tour on the bike at the end of March, so hoping this saves the luggage from getting filthy & wet. :)

Yeah, dodged the flooding to park up and take a pic, just to prove Im daft enough to go out this time of year!!! Wouldn't normally, but buying the bike in September means haven't been out much and any chance I get to run the 'new' bike, I grab :D

Nice job you've done. One question though.... how did you attach it to the bike, I can't see any bolts?

I cut down the gixxer tailpiece, then used a heatgun to flatten out a section large enough to take a repair washer, then used the bolt that holds the tail light. I also used something called 'Sugru' to glue the two tabs to the back of the fender. Its like a silicone putty that sets hard and sticks like shit to a blanket, google it, great stuff for making and repairs.

Not very pretty from the back, but unless i've just ridden over you, your no gonna see it !!!!:D

Not very loud one's tho' !!!! not until you get your TOR's found ! LoL ;):):):):p

Don't want to ride in rain, but living in Scotland, I often find myself doing so. Doesn't take long to wash the bike and then spend a couple of evenings polishing it up. Dehumidifier in the garage is great at drying it off. Find it easier to wash than a fully faired sportsbike and rather be in the garage polishing it, than most other things!!! Looking at pet driers, same as motorbike driers but 1/2 the price. Trying to convince the missus she needs it to dry the dog !!!:D

Thanks for the detailed explanation and picture. Does it make much difference to the muck that gets flung up?

Not been out in really wet conditions since, but will post up when we do.
The tail does hang down and lowers the angle the spray can come up, so hopefully will be an improvement.

What you really need is those flappy mud flaps like those mods used to put on their Lambrettas:)
