2. So long as you don't change anything on the inlet side of the engine,you won't need to adjust the fuelling; but you might care to remove the AI system or you'll get popping on over-run.

Good choice of bike. Regarding the exhaust, yes stock exhausts are very quiet and an aftermarket exhaust is what you need to make the bike sound like is looks!

 

Hi Wide, I bought some of their pipes for my T100 and they do indeed bolt to the bike very solidly. The bracket on the pipes bolts to the footrest hanger and is adjustable heightwise, to aid a perfick fit.

Welcome onboard Widey. Just gone onto a cruiser myself, in my case though a 2010 blue and white America. Took ages looking around and managed to get one that already had the short slash cut "musical" pipes, the ones that sound as sweet as bagpipes. Being new to triumphs though I don't understand the difference between the America and the Speedmaster other than the SpeedM seems to have a "revometer". I did ask the salesman and he muttered something about the SpeedM being sportier before becoming incoherent and wandering off so I never got a proper answer.
Anyway, hope you enjoy your new mount.

 

Hi and welcome. Word of warning on the turnout / slash cut pipes - They are very LOUD, VERY LOUD !!! Take off your pipes and run the bike without, turnouts are not a lot quieter, as they are just straight thru extensions.

Must admit to wanting a pair, as I too was disappointed with the noise from standard America pipes, until I heard them on a bike. Don't think I could cope with more than 20 miles before going home and putting standard pipes back on.

I went for the Triumph Off Road (TOR) short pipes. Make a nice meaty noise (LINKY) and make the bike sound like it looks. They are expensive from Triumph (£375) but myself and a pal both managed to get a pair for around £125 from Ebay. Took a couple of months for them to come up, but they do appear now and again.

Whatever you choose exhaust wise, sure you'll enjoy, great bikes. I came from a GSXR750 and I'm loving cruising.

Speedmasters are drag bars and blacked out parts, smaller fenders with a small pillion pad, America is chrome, huge bars, bigger fenders and full size pillion pad, that's the way I see it.

 

Good advice from MrOrange.
I had the same pipes as biglad on my Bonnie and they were very loud without the baffles and still quite loud with them in. Great for a short blast into town but a bit tiring on a longer run (they did pass an MOT though). They also offer quite a big weight saving over stock pipes and TORS.
Bit fiddly to fit as biglad will confirm!

That's a good looking bike and with the sissy bar and touring pad too, I have the short TORs' on mine which I find is about right for me (and my neighbours). It does pop and bang on over run but no need for re-mapping, also keeps pedestrians on their toes before blindly lurching across the high street.

 

Love the red colour, reminds me of a nice set of ladies sexy underwear.
