    Hi Johne,

Yes its great to still be riding. Not in the winter anymore, so more the fair weather rider, but I will leave the winter stuff to the young uns.

There are two fundamental routes, one the basic scenic one is down through Italy and then to Cyprus on a ferry.

The other and more adventurous one is through Hungary Serbia Bulgaria and finally Turkey. Then a ferry to Cyprus.

I fancy the second one. I THINK !!!

Don't blame you, that sounds like a great route, it would a long ferry ride from Italy! I've never been further than Croatia so can't really advise on those countries.

We're hoping to get down to Greece next year which would mean riding through Croatia, Montenegro and Albania, the last one will be way out of my comfort zone

Hi and welcome. Why not do both?, one way on the outward trip the other return? When I rode down thru' Yugoslavia to Greece in the 80's I intended to come back via the ferry to Brindisi and then back up via Italy but I mucked up and waited too long and the ferry was booked on the days I could use it. Well before the ease of internet bookings....

It's a thought, but we have a villa in Cyprus, so the idea was to leave the bike there, and maybe use it as a base for other trips. Hopefully

    Hi, RKT.
Croatia and Albania are no problem I have ridden in both in the last few years, Main roads are good, fuel fairly readily available depending on your bikes range I would fill up every 100 miles.
Croatia has a big tourist and holiday infrastructure and Albania is getting better every year. For Macedonia I would recommend writing to Keith Freak the FIM touring steward for the UK as he has been there recently.

    Tha
    Thanks Dartplayer.

It's a really easy bike to ride. The biggest problem I have at the moment is taking care when I slow down and stop. You have to be ready. Secondly I was in the ferry to Ireland and had to complete a tight U turn.

So a couple of things to work on.

Once going it's a dream to handle.

Hi Roger, If you leave your bike in Cyprus, which is a great Idea. You'll have to buy another bike for here. Another great idea.
