    hello folks,

how far are you getting on 14.5L ?

"range left" seems very pessimistic ?

Had mine down to 1 mile, tank only took 11 litres and was at 145miles. (57mpg on the clocks  ... on a 1200...yewhitnoo!?)

Hi, last year I ran the bike till there was zero miles left (indicator was just showing three lines), petrol station was only half a mile down the road from this point, at fill up my trip meter was showing 166.2 miles from previous fill and managed to squeeze in 12.33 litres, this was bike in sport mode with mix of riding, quite a bit of it was fairly spirited, fuel used was super unleaded. So yes you are right the range left indicator is pretty pessimistic but its always good to have/know, that there is a nice safety margin within the bike, I personally have been well impressed with MPG its been delivering, Ive had it over a year now and done around 4500 miles and am still delighted with it. PS. the reason I am able to put such specific figures is that I posted all this info last year in a thread (Speed Twin Fuel Indicator) so just looked back and checked the details, oh and welcome to the forum by the way, cheers

I have gone over 170 miles and still had a bit left in the tank.

The fuel gauge is very conservative, but better to say you have too little than say you have more then you really do.

Yup me too - when the gauge says zero, I invariably fill up with just over 11 litres. Therefore still have somewhere around 3 to 3.5 litres in the tank. No biggie and as you say, best to err on the safe side. It then takes 2k's to 3k's for the bike to register full.

Today I filled up @ 161 miles, gas gauge said I had 8 miles left but only put 3.1 gallons into the tank.
