Hello All. am new to motorbikes , even at the tender age of 51, I only past my test about 12 months ago. I have now been the proud owner of my bullet built 2013, Tiger 800 but I feel im getting used to it and was after a more noticeable model (ROCKET). the question........is it too soon? and am I not experienced enough?
no im not going for a Harley, but will give the thunderbird a try though, this bloody weather is doing my head, I like fare dry weather TBH and cant get out much to practise
I agree...........ill stick to my triumph, just wanted a deeper sounding exhaust, any advise on after market ones would be appreciated.
Loads of them our there, I think arrows is the favoured one by triumph. You will have to research, look on YouTube to hear them and visit tiger forums, it will probably be the most talked about subject. Also don't forget some might need re-map.
Hi and welcome to the forum. I only passed my test 20 months ago, so a newcomer like you. Don't be too eager to chase more power. I can see why you feel used to the Enfield (I have one) but a Tiger 800? There's lots of fun to be had on that yet!
Hi Trev and welcome in. Do I understand correctly that you have an Enfield Bullet and a Triumph Tiger 800? If that is correct then I would say you have a charming "Old timer" as they are called over here; plus a really good everyday and touring bike in the Tiger. If you want more noise both bikes can be modified easily and cheaply by fitting after-market exhausts and that'll give you a much more satisfying ride. If you do change the exhausts, make sure you keep the originals so you can refit them whenever you can to sell the bikes. Change the exhausts and get some more miles under your belt would be my advice.
Hi Trev Harleys don't go round corners or islands very well. My brother has one and its just a posing thing. A friend had a rocket and very heavy, really needs a reverse gear. If I were going down the cruiser route I would definitely look at the thunderbird which has nice size 1600 engine,I had an America and it was just a little low powered for me. And as mentioned by the Big Lad there are some great exhausts you can try. Good luck Mark
Hi Trev, welcome in. Your never too old to try new things so enjoy your second flush of 'yoof' and go for it BIG TIME
