    Hi,
I went to use my 2011 SE for work this morn and turned the ignition switch and nothing. Battery is on a optimiser so I knew the battery was tip top
if I rattle the key the lights flash and if you hold it in a certain place all is good bike fires up.

about 4 weeks ago i was on my way into Gloucester city centre and when going over the bridge (bit of a bump) I came to a slooooow stop all lights out and at the time thought it was a fuse but after turning off and on several times it seemed to correct it self. so this must have been on its way for a while

Is this a common fault ?

£166 for a new one yikes

No thank God. Before you go throwing money away put some plus gas or similar down the key hole and check the bottom of the switch that is hasn't come loose.
    Regards
    Joe.

T100 or SE? It can’t be both!

The switches don’t like water ingress so regular WD40 if the bike doesn’t have a kennel.

tried second key still the same tried WD40 still the same
split the switch, springs and small ball bearings galore. the second brass contact looks to have been melted/burned. I carefully cleaned and put some solder on and filed flat and after nearly 2hrs to put together it works but I am not confident it will last.
I am going to leave it for a few weeks to see.

well the switch failed again today on the way to work. LOL just buzzed passed a few cars then mmmmmmmmm
Managed to wedge an extra 1/8 of a turn and lights on and made it to work a tad late

Just paid £174 with P&P. World of Triumph

    :-(

Expensive for a switch which is just on and off least you don’t have to worry if the bike will cut out at a bad time
