Hi All, Thought I'd introduce myself after joining the forum today, seeing as I have just bought a Daytona 955i year 2000. Been looking out for one for a while & one with low mileage (14k) came up for sale locally. I pick it up at the weekend after my current bike (Yamaha YZF 600R) moves on to a new owner. Had a parallel twin & 4 cylinder bikes during the last few years, before that a Kawasaki KR1s which went to the big scrap yard in the sky after I spent 4 months rebuilding it, first proper ride & someone wiped me off it at a roundabout after only 8 miles!! Looking forward to the torque of the triple & fingers crossed the weather improves again so I can put some miles on it. Cheers Paul J
Paul Jones Welcome to the family. Do check if the steed has had the major service as they don't like to miss that one. Think it should be around 16000 miles and involves the tappets so not cheap. I learnt the hard way when my engine blew apart.. We will wait for a picture of the steed. Regards & Ride Safe. Joe.
Cheers for the welcome everyone. Here it is, needs a bloody good clean when I get it home though. Strange how when buying a bike private, some people think it doesn’t matter that it’s covered in flies & needs a full clean & wheels degreasing. When I sold my Yamaha at the weekend it was washed & waxed before the buyer even set eyes on it.
