may not be a triumph but the Vincent is still bringing big dollars this one is in Victoria Australia

 

I’ve sat on one I couldn’t believe how light it was and I was riding a cbr600 at the time which was a light bike.

 

I think, at around 220+ KG (Wet) you’ll find the Vincent is considerably heavier than a CBR 600.

maybe ken, but to sit on it felt much lighter maybe the bulk of the weight is lower down.

 

I’ve just tex my mate who’s bike it was and it was a Vincent comet ,it was a few years ago.

 

Ha, that would be the 500 single then. That would knock a good few pounds/Kg off, I would imagine.

I first became aware of the Vincent Black Shadow from the writings of Hunter S. Thompson, who I believe rode a Vincent bike when he did his research for the Hells Angels book. Not riding a Harley miffed some of the Angels, but at least Thompson didn't ride a Japanese bike.

True that's around £140K UK i have seen Vincent's and Brough's go for £60 to £80K but that's crazy.

 

Half a million. Laughable. Even as a museum piece, which it’s destined to be, stupid Money.

That's all I would buy until now, including my cars. But the Hell's Angels were made in 'murica types, though now Harley makes all of their bikes in Taiwan or Thailand or some such place. Ha ha. They could tolerate a British bike, on the other hand.
