Your'e welcome The route also takes you past the turn for Ancient Olympia and Lake Kaifas to the south...
Thanks to all of you for such a warm welcome!! I'd like to ask for some advice if I may? I liked the approach to the engine design of the Street Twin on initial release as regards the emphasis on torque rather than HP. For me, that was a good idea especially as the torque is developed at lowish revs. The recent 2019+ models have more HP with the max torque developed a little higher up. The 2016-2018 models also have a slightly lower seat height which would be an advantage for me! The 'just adequate' front brake I can live with. The added rider modes are useful of course but having been able to cope previously with the 100Nm/74 lb-ft torque of a HD XR1200X on Greece's dodgy asphalt I'm non too fussed not having that facility. Before I commit to a nice 2018 Street Twin rather than a newer (and more expensive) 2019 model I'd welcome any comments on the subject......apols if there is a thread on this conundrum elsewhere on the forum!
Good morning Maniot. I would post that question in the TwinPower section of the forum. They will know the answers there I am sure .
Welcome, Street Twin recommended, enjoy. Hope to reach your shores sometime soon!! Or perhaps just sometime.
Thanks to you 'mp' in the 'Pearl of the South' in the US from the pearl of the Southern Peloponnese in Greece (Mani) .....stay safe!
This is me transiting the Corinth Canal in 1979, on HMS Norfolk. I'm the one with t'anchor on arm of mi overalls.
What a cracking snap and what a moment to remember Foxy....the transiting tyke! Have been above it many times but never gone through....its very narrow innit? Must have been hell of a squeeze in on the Norfolk? Bet you had only 2-3m each side ....respect
It was tight, tha can see t'cliff side. We were guided/towed through by a tug. I was chuffed to go through as when I was a kid, mi favourite film was Jason and the Argonauts, and allegedly, t'scene where t'Kraken holds cliffs back was filmed there. Oh, and "transiting tyke" Love it!
