    Hi Guys

Just got my Street Twin on order so I'm all revved up on all things Triumph at the moment. Just got to get the 800XC sold now, I hate selling bikes. Its high mileage, I wonder if I could persuade the missus its not worth selling :)

Yup do it Martin, no-one will ever buy a hi mile 800, avoid 'em like the plague, nothing over 5000 miles, might as well keep it

Hi and welcome, will be passing through Calvilha, Vila Real and Ponferrada as part of this years trip, really impressed with Portugal last year so we are coming back for more.

Enjoy the new bike, they looked fantastic at the Bike Show.

The bike is due at the start of April, I'm away all of March and they were not sure they could get one to me beforehand. I'm buying out of the catalogues so its good to know they look good, I would have had a Bonny but 10k was a bit rich for me.

I live in the south of Portugal, got some great empty roads and a nice bike club as well.

    Thanks for the welcome

PS The 800XC is a 2012 with 50k on it. It runs sweet as anything.

Actually the Portuguese mostly like to ride to the restaurant for an extended lunch and wobble back again :)

Hi and welcome to the forum.
Keep the other bike - it's how you keep a Triumph clean!

Hi and welcome, two bikes are better than one, especially if you still enjoy the 800xc.

Not sure I want my garage full of bikes - again. No rush to sell anyway.

Yo Martin, welcome, loved Portugal, been through a few times on bike, great to arrive on the Algarve on two wheels, after having flown there before. had a pal called Martin we rode to see in ohlos d'agua in 2003. Lost touch not you is it? Martin's nickname was CBN (currant bun eater) - bought nine for a party, ate one to even things up and then couldn't stop, ate the lot  heh heh heh...

No. Just like a bit quieter than the alrgarve. Not into the brits abroad stuff, prefer to immerse in local life rather than full English or Sunday roast type places. We stopped at the supermarche / lidl in Espiche quite a few times !!!

Just looked on Expedia for the No.1 accommodation in Portugal, and it was in Sagres, so we went there in 2014, liked so much were coming back in October this year. Being Scottish, we don't do sun too well, so October is warm enough !!!

The roads up the Atlantic coast are a wee bit rough in places, but still looked brilliant. Would love to bring the bike to Portugal for World superbikes and then ride up to Santander & ferry home, that would be a dream trip, that has to be done.

Portimao racetrack is great, apparently one of the best to ride in europe. For me the Go Karts on the outside will do, the best I have been on. The crying shame is I have been to WSB there twice. Both times the stands were only about 25-30% full even though the entry price on race day is €15 outside of the main stand. Half of those were Spanish bikers, the Portuguese just dont seem to get behind it.

The roads at the back over the big hill called Monchique are epic as well. Just got to keep a weather eye out for tractors and dogs, the usual stuff. If you wanted to ride you can hire decent bikes from Praia Da Luz, they have a couple of Yamaha MT-09 Tracers.

Hiring a bike for the day sounds like a cracking idea. Any idea what they charge? Looked online, but couldn't see anything.

The road from the A22 to the circuit looked like fun on a sportsbike, few races when leaving the circuit ????

We were at the circuit for some classic racing, it was empty, must have been 50 spectators. Would have had 5,000+ if it was at Donnington
