I'm in the process of trying to find either an America or Speedmaster, and I can see some have the rear backrest/rack, some have panniers, and then there seems to be two types of slash cut exhausts - full length or shorter.

I think my ideal bike would be a 2012 in the nice light blue and white colour they did, with all three of the above options, but I could be waiting a while for the right one to come along so I'm considering buying one without and retrofitting the missing parts. Does anyone have an idea of costs for these?
I'm guessing exhausts are the most costly, and rear backrest the cheapest.

Oh, and when did footboards arrive on the America? Can't decide if I'd prefer them or not.

    Thanks

Way cheaper to find a bike with them fitted. You are looking at close to £1000 for panniers, sissy bar and slash short exhausts from Triumph. Bought mine a couple of months ago with panniers (not fitted, but still in triumph boxes) and sissy bar fitted and it did not cost anymore than similar bikes with no accessories. Managed to get a pair of 2nd hand short TOR's from Triumph Chesterfield for £120. This is mine pictured, 2013 reg.

Yeah, that's pretty much exactly what I'd like.

Thanks guys, I would definitely recommend the short slash TOR's, makes it sound like it looks.
Only dislike is the bars. I suggest you sit on both an America and a Speedie. Speedie got straighter drag bars. Not getting on with the bent out wrists, my GSXR 750 was kinder on the wrists.

Hi. Accessories for America are extremely expensive. Definately try to buy one with as much on as possible. I'm thinking about getting foot boards for mine as might be more comfortable for long runs but need to save up.

Hi MrOrange, I didn't like the original position of my bars(2008 America) so I put the speed master risers on, 3" as against 1"inch found it much better on arm's, shoulders & back.
