Hi Erik, if you know anywhere that might fit the bill of a mix of camping/BnB/bar in this area shout it out can you?
I've stopped hear for two weeks last year and am going back in September for another week. Darwin Forest, about 3 miles from Matlock. No camping but has lodges for hire. An 8 birth lodge for three days would cost around £610 to £670. An 8 birth lodge offers 2 doubles and 2 twins. So for 6 sharing it would be around £110 each for three nights. Lots of amenities on site, swimming pool, excellent bar and restaurant and well located to tour from. http://www.darwinforest.co.uk
And one more suggestion from me. This time for campers. http://www.barnfarmcamping.com I have never stopped there but it gets a good score on trip advisor. More importantly it had two pubs within 5-10 mins walk. And generally seems like a good location. These does seem to be some accommodation in barns for larger groups sleeping in a large room. As with most camp sites when you read the T&c's you see something like this "We are sorry but we do not accept bookings from single sex groups of 4 or more people or unaccompanied under 18" I guess if we book individually we will not trip this condition.
Thanks very much for these suggestions Rooster - They're Great. The idea of these barns is a good one so you don't need to be carting tents - unless you're going on somewhere. It'll be like being back in the RAF. About £12 per person per night. Let's see how the accommodation poll goes.

I don't know mate, but I'm a bit worried that I might have said something that he took exception - something political.
Hi Steve,if you can snore better than me, you'll be doing well. One time I was away with a number biker mates camping in the SE France. We'd had a great evening on the relaxing sauce and set-up the tents in a circle. When I woke up the next morning they had all "picked up their beds and walked" and had set up again about 300 mtrs down the field . True story, currently being told in Germany, Holland, Denmark and France.
