Mattletrumpet. Welcome to the family. Great old beastie the T140. what happened the head. Also a good place to hunt is the TOMCC forum. Regards Joe.
ok guys thanks for the welcome,s . heres the script on the bonnie, it lay in a garage for 20 odd years, i bought it 4 years ago and am now getting round to it, as many other projects took up my time, problem is someone somewhere along the way stripped the threads on the spark plugs, made an attempt to helicoil it. in situ, made a right arse of it, so unless i can get it alloy welded, re drilled and tapped ?????? , its one for hanging on the wall as a testament to those who should not be allowed to hold a spanner.
Hi Matt, and welcome in Here is a link to the Wanted section on the Forum https://www.thetriumphforum.com/forums/wanted.24/
Mattletrumpet. You know there are dealers out there that can fit a new insert to the plug holes that are very good if it is not badly damaged. then you can have the valves resealed or the bigger valves and even gas flowed makes all the difference. Regards Joe.
As Joe said an automotive engineering shop can maybe repair that at minimal cost compared to a replacement, you indicate that you are from Scotland in your avator so you could try Tom Mckeans in Dumfries, John Mckean is a biker and a very skilled machinist https://dumfries.cylex-uk.co.uk/company/thomas-j-mckean-17130699.html
thanks for the info and the welcomes, working computers is like my welding, if i was stranded on an island, and found a mobile diesel welding plant and a huge pile of steel plate, id cut down the trees and make a raft, as i would stand a better chance of floating to civilisation.
thanks to all who replied, well ive managed to get a cylinder head from a seller on fleabay, at a sensible price, should be on its way next week, will send old head to ( recommended) engineering company and see what they can do with it, keep it on the shelf for future use, going to take up a welding course at local college, arkeye the noo, as may need the skills , as i do live on an island, with not many trees,
