ME TOO been there had the warning stopped number sending as DD says ended up breaking my email address into words only - @ became at, . became dot and so on extra spaces between also,
There Barstewards no doubt aboot that.

 

The answer is send a picture of your number on a card!!

 

eBay has its place, and its fair share of numpties. I needed a replacement video camera for work - made a fair offer that equalled the minimum starting bid price and was flat refused.... when the camera had a day and a half to run, the seller changed the listing and dropped the starting bid by £100, and set a buy it now price. I killed the buy it now option with a low offer (£50 below what I had offered initially) and rode the auction out - cost the seller £50 by refusing my offer. I guess it was either greed or over expectation on his part that cost him the money, and I got a great deal (also picked up a couple of 256Gb SD cards at about 50% of cheapest retail price)

 

The tossers did nothing for me on a dodgy deals, let me down twice carry on regardless, they will lose far more than they gain,thats what my mum say,s anyway lol

 

Yes been there. About 5 / 6 years ago I had a pair of SkullFire wheels delivered from America. Tracked all the way to customs and they did a Paul Daniels. Customs said parcel force have them parcel force said never received them eBay said sorry we can't help and they don't qualify for insurance as they were imported. The shop out of the goodness of their hearts sent me a replacement rear wheel which was all they had left. So I lost money the shop lost money eBay rubbed their hands and said thankyou. And the last bit some thieving customs or parcel force creep has my wheels and I haven't forgot.

Parcel farce in my area can't be bothered to leave cards, so you never know whether they have attempted delivery or not until you track and trace it. I suspect that they just lie about attempting delivery (more than once I have been sat at my desk eight feet from the front door at the time they claim to have attempted delivery) and just take it to the local post office.

I thought that as well but they didn't want to know other than contact the seller. I lost a lot of money as I said they claimed as it was an imported item they didn't cover it. And GaleForceEight I have had the exact same.

On another note....
Just recently I was at the Stafford bike show and a friend of mine nearly ended up buying a helmet which was out of stock to follow on via mail order. The third friend that was with us said “no don’t do it”! The stall keeper looked bemused. My mate who was buying it looked bemused and I was confused and felt bad for both the stall keeper and my mate wanting it. The stall keeper said “what’s wrong? You can pay on PayPal as its perfectly safe?”
My other mate said he would never have a helmet sent through the post as you don’t ever know what can happen which I thought was a bit OTT!

I just bought a tin of filler via eBay .... and this is how it landed a few days ago!

So now I realise what mate number two was getting at as that could have been a £500 helmet with hidden hairline crack!

 

Nowt that a rub down and a bit of filler won’t fix.

Well I bought some wood preservative a couple of weeks ago which hasn't arrived so I reported it on Ebay as "Item not received". The seller was given till May 4th to respond. But, i've noticed that the seller is no longer registered on Ebay so i'm not sure how i'll go on.

 

Anything to do with Royal Mail or PF I just wont use for that reason and they don’t honour losses as I’ve found out. Yours is typical example Alan.

 

I’ve bought stuff off eBay in the past, but wouldn’t now. Too full of thieves and scammers, and don’t get me started on DPD (Despatch Probably Destroyed), DHL (Despatch Hopelessly Lost).
It’s always hit and miss ordering on line
