New member on the forum, but not new to riding or to Triumph. Since I passed my test on a Triumph Cub in 1968 Triumph has been my preferred brand. And the 2016 T100 (liquid cooled) is possibly the best of the lot. Both the finish and general build quality are outstanding and any doubts I had about it being made in Thailand were soon put to rest. It was bought with the, rather romantic, notion that as my first new motorcycle had been a Bonneville in 1970 my last one should also be one. As it turns out it took a bit of effort to turn it into what I wanted it to be. Thanks for having me.
Thanks for the welcomes, gents. I thought I would share a photo of my T100 (along with my son’s Street Triple R) above the clouds on our last visit to the Picos.
Yes, made a huge difference that. Saved 14lbs in, unsprung, weight and allowed tubeless radial tyres (Avon Spirit ST) in the standard sizes.
Simon64ds Welcome to the family. Great intro and fantastic picture. The inmates here in the asylum will love that picture. Regards & Ride Safe Joe.
Wow! And the ‘welcomes’ keep coming, thank you. All of you. @Bikerman they are Street Twin/Street Cup wheels. Straight swap. I got them from a guy who had put the chrome rims on his Street Twin to make it look more ‘authentic’ Triumph. If anyone with a Street Twin or Cup wants to do the same I still have the original T100 wheels/tyres/tubes. I originally kept them in case I wanted to sell the bike and put it back to standard trim, but it looks like I will probably keep it forever now, so they’re for sale.
