I must confess I have too much time on my hands and ordered a nice Shark number and now I can't decide which to keep (done the same with jackets!). Am single handedly keeping DHL in business.

At £180 notes it was also a bit cheaper than the Arai.

I’ve just bought a new lid, an AGV flip front carbon fibre one.
I tried one on at the NEC last year and was impressed at how light it was, so seeing as my Arai is now about 5 years old I thought I’d try out my first flip front.
The retail price is nearly £600  but I found this one online for less than half that, although I hadn’t heard of the company. Thankfully, Sportsbikeshop matched their price :grinning: despite selling it themselves at around £50 more.
Looking forward to trying it out on the road one day. ;)

There are some great helmet designs out there but also some real abominations. Just about every helmet I've had in over 40 years of bike ownership has had some connection to the bike, usually in it's colour scheme. For example both my 90's Honda sports bike are variations of red, white and blue, so naturally I looked for matching-colour helmets. That doesn't mean I compromise on quality. I looked at Shoei, Arai etc and settled on a Shark helmet. Good quality, good fit, matches the bikes.
My Street Twin is black with brushed alloy parts, ie. 'brushed' silver (as opposed to chrome silver). My Triumph helmet is brushed silver, with a black stripe front to back, a more traditional design and shape (there's a pic a few posts back on this thread if anyone's interested). I appreciate some multiple bike owners will only want one helmet, in which case I would probably go for a single colour.
So that's my 2-penny worth, which will no doubt result in cries of "you helmet snob!". I own 5 helmets so I guess I am .

My not so great DOT-only Biltwell starter lid - not the safest but I like the retro look.

I have the scorpion but in black, the full carbon one, all I can say is give it a go. If I were to replace my helmet tomorrow, it would be exactly the same choice. Very light too.

I spy an AGV x3000 Legends in that gaggle. I have 2 of those and they are my premier retro goto. One gloss black with hi-viz yellow visor, and my new today second black matte\yellow matte with dark smoke visor picked up on close out pricing. Love them lids.
