The car shown below was in our family for a number of years. I bought it and made it drivable, but my career was in full swing at the time and I had no time for it. This is my son running it in a Porsche Owner's Club autocross event at Running Springs, Ca. He later developed it in to a full on autocrosser. It was run in SCCA Solo events. It was ultimately stripped of it's racy bits and scrapped. It was actually two different cars welded together. My son now races Nissan 350s and a Porsche Boxter. This was a real low budget racer. ...J.D.
I believe that one was a 55'. It is a 100-4. I hung around it a bit in the cold pits watching them prep it. Really brought back memories of my years as a professional mechanic [1970-1984, intermittently]. Driven and worked on a lot of A-H's, mostly 3000's but a couple of 100-6's. BOY, was that back in a previous life ! ...J.D.
Thanks for starting this thread and posting the pics. I was getting tired of seeing the old timer in the bikini sipping a latte top of the home page. I almost posted a couple pics of Elizabeth Hurley drinking a latte' to move that dude down.
Love that slogan on the Brad Dahmer motor... Turning money into noise for the last 25 years. Brilliant!

Pictures of my Dad, he raced professionally from 1947 - 1961 - Dad on the right with Phil who painted the car, this would be around 1957/1958. You can see the progression of the cars in the 10 year spread. Tires got wider and cars more refined. Safety just wasn't a concern as much as making them go fast. 1958 DA Lubricant roadster indycar dad test drove but never raced. The car was involved in an accident that killed Pat O'Connor at Indy in 1958. Dad test drove afterwards and said the car would not go straight so he decided that he wouldn't race it. Years latter they found the the front end was still damaged from the Indy crash. The car has since been restored. Dad winning the feature in 1951 Chicago International Amphitheater Dad in the Fred Tomshe Offy, somewhere in Indiana 1954'ish Dad on fire, 1948'ish, notice he is standing up and driving the car. Model of the car dad drove ( in background) in 1949, That day he set fast time, won his heat and won the feature.

I know Oulton Park again,,,this time it’s 30th May1970 and it’s the British Championship Round. Irish man Brian Steenson exiting Esso, now renamed Shell oils, thundering his way to Hill Top and the drop down to Knicker Brook. There were no chicanes in those days at Oulton. Shouldn’t really have taken the pictures as I was marshalling that day. Alan Barnett from down sarf. Sidecar champ Chris Vincent
This is my youngest son Mark in his " B " Sreet Prepared Class autocross car. This car has been in the family a few years. Mark's co-driver took it to 1st. place at SCCA Solo Nationals in Lincoln, Ne. It is now getting de-prepped and being replaced by a Porsche Boxter. ...J.D.
