    Hello, new forum membere here.
I've recently joined the forum so thought I'd better introduce myself............ Being a bit short in the leg, I'm a bit restricted to which bikes I can choose. I had a Suzuki bandit for a long time, but I was never 100% comfortable on it when at standstill as I couldn't flat foot it.
I then got thinking about low seat height cruisers and after doing some research it was the Triumph Speedmaster which caught my eye.

In October of last year I was looking on the various bike sites. I knew I wanted the earlier carb'ed version as I preferred the shape of the tank etc over the later EFI models. I was looking on ebay and found an a good example of what I was looking for, it was a 2005 Speedmaster in mint condition with 4200 miles on the clock. It also came with a few extras including backrest/rear carrier, MRA screen, scottoiler, engine bars, Triumph panniers. Price was agreed and I became the new owner.

Looking at the previous MOT certs, it showed that for a couple of years, the bike had only done the mileage to the MOT centre and back again (9 miles).

So, this year I've been enjoying putting some miles on the bike and I gotta say.. I love it!!

Hi Scoot and welcome in to the Triumph Playground. Sounds like a nice bike you've got there. The Speedie is quite a fave of mine also. But we need pics, lots of pics of your new toy to drool over :):):D:rolleyes:

Hi and welcome, it's always good to hear of people getting a good example of the bike they want. It seems to happen a lot with triumphs and also those last 3 words seem to be popular with them too

Thanks for the replies guys. Yes, I'm well pleased with my purchase, it's exactly what I was looking.

    I love it!
The furthest I've ridden so far has been from Durham to Southampton / Isle of White for the August Bank Holiday and then IoW to London for a few days and then from London to Colchester the following weekend and then Colchester back to Durham.

I had intended to do the above trip on my Vespa but it and been having an intermittent electrical problem (I thought it was sorted) so on day of the ride from Durham to Ise of Wight I got as far as Scotch Corner services and then had to return home due the fault re-appearing, load up the Speedmaster and set off again to catch the Friday teatime ferry to the Isle of Wight.

Thanks again for the comments and warm welcome. No doubt I'll be asking a few questions over the coming weeks.
Yes, I'm well pleased with the bike.

I would say that the only niggle I have is that although manageable, I find that the bars and pegs are a slight stretch and would be more comfortable if the position was moved 2 to 3 inches back. I'm going to be looking at pull back risers and footpeg relocation in the near future.

(BTW, are my previous pics too BIG?)

The file sizes seem OK but they are in .png format rather than the more normal .jpeg format.

    Lovely looking bike though.

Looking good - not quite sure you've got enough on the back in the last couple of photos!

Yes, I'm very pleased with the bike. I'm going to make changes such as exhaust, pull back risers and maybe footpegs brought back a bit.

I agree, I had quite a load on the back, just as well the wife is petite
