To pass the time, I may remove the backrest from my Rocket 3R (that I had fitted as an option on delivery!) . I just fancy seeing how it’s done, learning a bit more about my bike and also seeing how it looks with the original pillion seat on. I have the backrest fitting instructions - they just refer to removing the mudguard under tray as per the service manual.

Has anyone done this? or anyone know of how to access the service manual? I may just be able to have a look and tinker, but would prefer to follow a guide if possible.

    Hi @Dobbo
The under tray is held in with four bolts:)
These two are underneath  AD435E5E-3DCB-4763-B239-733E5EDC4765.jpeg Here....one either side of the bike

    Hope this helps :)

All done, nice and straightforward - thanks to Dilligaf for the photos and guide!
Nice to see my Rocket back in standard trim without the backrest.
