    Hi all,

I've been hankering after a bike I can just swing a leg over and go for a ride on. Something more upright or comfortable to ride than my other bikes. I couldn't quite bring myself to get an R NineT or a Ducati Scrambler or something, and then recently I've started thinking a Triumph would be a good idea.

So with that in mind, the obvious choice to me is a T120, but I'm a bit of a sucker for trick bits. It's not the most expensive on the website, which makes me think other bikes in the range have better components. I'm a sucker for gold USD forks and fancy brakes.

So my options are get a T120 and get over it.

Get a T120 and over time try to pimp it up by stealing components from more exotic Triumphs (haven't looked into the feasibility of this yet e.g. head stock dimensions, fork lengths etc).

Get something other than a T120, and work towards making it a bit more retro, change the bars etc.

What's the common thing that people do please? There are plenty of custom Triumphs out there, just haven't spotted a tricked out T120 yet.

    Cheers

    Russ

I am inclined to look at it this way. Are you an ardent polisher or someone who ‘will hose it down tomorrow’?

The thing about the most retro styled bikes is that they need more love than a plain Jane. T120 v Speed Twin is aesthetics v. agility, tubeless tyres and a bit less sensitive to salt.

They can all be improved to taste.....

A T120 is a safe bet, while I love my Thruxton the T120 is more comfortable.
