I recently refitted the stock bars on the Bonnie after trying out the LSL bars I bought on ebay. These were narrower and lower than stock and necessitated bar end mirrors being fitted. I bought the Halcyon ones as they look the part, are good quality and made in England.

Want the mirrors on the stock bars but the problem is that insert a little way in, which the end cap screws into doesn't leave enough room for the halcyon fitting - so it has to come out.

To save others time! I tried to drift the first one out with a suitable sized socket, but no go. Ended up drilling through it with progessively larger drills but still wouldn't budge until it was virtually destroyed - had to file down the spot welds (top and bottom) to get the mirror to fit.

Second one - got a big screwdriver and same hammer, hit it once top and bottom and it popped out with two hits!

When I fitted bar ends to my T100, I used the bolt that holds the end cap, to fix the mirrors in place. No bashing, crashing or mashing.

The bolt on the Halcyon mirrors is larger than the end cap one and there was no where near enough clearance between the end of the bar and the insert to house the mirror fitting - the LSL bars I had did not have an insert at all.

They weren't too bad for that and never gave me a problem - I just didn't think they looked right in the end.

Hi steve, just got some halcyon s for my Thrux and have encountered the same problem, when you say the last one popped out, do you mean out or further in the bar? And would it be reusable? I have s feeling I'll be sending them back tho'

Hi crispey, yes once the weld broke it did come out from the bar. I doubt that they would be reusable though but that shouldn't be a problem if you are going to stick with using the mirrors.
If you went back to normal style mirrors you could always get the bar end weights that screw in and expand.
