Has anyone heard how loud these pipes are? Louder than TORs? I like the look of them, minimalist, clean lines.
"Baffled by any chance?" Oh yes, and homologated for road use Go here and listen to the guy trying to talk over the top of these exhausts:
I just bought a pair of cans for mine Bonny that look and sound great. They cost me £72 brand new and have removable baffles so you can tune the level of 'song' as you desire. At the mo' I'm running them with baffles and they sound great plus the bike is running really well - more mid-range torque and about 10% better mpg. don't know about those but I have BC predators on my Thruxton and they make a loverly sound, just have to make sure Im in a higher gear when passing Plod
As there's no bike MOT over here you never get a tug from the rozzers, unless you're doing something that's just begging for a pull.
Ive been told that theres no emissions for bikes and you fail with exhausts if they seem louder than the standard should!! And you get pulled depending on what sort of night the rozzer has had!!
If we'd had a chance to get together on my recent trip you would have heard my previous exhausts - sounded about the same as the BC Shotguns and NEVER pulled.
There is no mechanism for checking bike exhausts for pollution as there's no MOT. The Gendarmes if they were really worried, would nick you if they were not EU stamped.
The pipes on my thunderbird are no for road use, but I don't worry, I use them on the bike not on the road.
Hi all, I have recently bought a scrambler, they have these British customs shotguns on and thay are soooo loud, when you look down the end of them there are some " wirey" bits around the inside about 8mm thick, and the rest, all the middle is empty! Is that right do you think?
What happens with the exhaust's in term of MOT's...do you have to switch them back or just be extra friendly to your MOT'er hoping they will pass it...?? I've been wondering for a while about how loud exhausts would effect my MOT so any advice would be great! Tone, do you have a pic of your bike with them on?
And do you think it's the same if I'm not the brother of the MOT'er...which I'm not...bloody useless brother I have doesn't MOT anything!
I've got BC Predators on mine and it went through an mot with no probs. I guess it's down to the tester deciding if the noise is greater than it should be!?! Don't get it mot'd on a Saturday or Monday, he could be hungover and a bit sensitive in the head!
Good idea half ton, the trouble is I like the sound ( noise) of them, but not sure the neighbors agree!! Matt, I will get a pic of the bike once I can get her indoors to do it for me!!
Matt, I see you live fairly close to me, if you want to meet up somewhere, maybe Rykers, box hill, you can have a look and sound what the cans are like.
