Greetings from Canada eh! Excited to score a lightly used 2016 Speed Triple last month and now just shuffling my feet and waiting for the snow to melt. Bike has 6000 kms and pretty much stock. Can't look away. If anyone on here lives nearby feel free to get in touch as we live in the country and it's a great jumping off spot for weekend rides into the Ontario Highlands. We also have three race tracks in the vicinity so bring your track bike. Lots of good information here so thanks in advance for that. Had a few motorbikes in recent years but first Triumph and first time registering on a forum. Ride safe everyone.
Thanks very much. Before venturing out onto our dusty roads in spring, I'd like to add some protection pieces to the bike. Are there any views comparing the quality of R&G products to Triumph OEM products out there? Both look substantial but without ordering blindly, I have no way of knowing.
Thanks love the handle Easy Tiger. I admit to not having the level of appreciation of a Speed Triple that comes with long term ownership. But have had numerous rides in recent years and, with the exception of the BMW R1200GS, suspension has been the main disappointment. I'm hoping the Speed Triple fits the bill.
Hi mate, welcome to the forum, great bike. Sounds like you live in a nice place, how about posting some pics and making us all jealous?
Welcome mate. I know how you feel, having a new (to you) bike in the garage and not being able to ride it because of the weather. I bought my Thruxton at the start of December and its only in the last week or two I've been able to get out on a proper ride. We don't have the extremes of weather you get in Canada. When do you think you'll be able to get out on the new toy?
Morning All and thanks for your warm greetings. Great way to start the day. I suspect many of you have been here awhile and have the occasional meet up? With the exception of the Wet coast, winter is a serious matter in Canada. For most, riding season begins in May and ends in November. Sand and salt is applied to the roads in obscene quantities in the interim. Forums have been helpful over the years but ownership has always been the deciding factor for me. In Canada you don't ask the seller of you can take the bike for a spin to help you decide. So you do your research and buy the bike. Then you learn the truth for yourself. As I did after getting a fairly good deal on a 2018 MT07 last fall only to learn the suspension was not up to the job. Which brings me to my latest purchase. I have high hopes for this bike. The R in all its glory was in my sights from the beginning but I feel the S was the better choice because I want slightly softer yet well sprung suspension for our crappy roads and not the more taught ride I believe the R offers. But again I have no way of knowing for sure unless I but it and ride it myself. Everyone asleep? Sorry. Thanks for listening.
