Yes if anyone ever goes to Northern Ireland Ballymoney. Do visit the station bar. It is the Joey bar. And if you walk back to town there is the monuments there for the Boys. Regards Joe.
Yes Joe you're right. I went over for Joey's funeral in 2000. I'm not joking there were hundreds of thousands there the lanes where so packed with people we got about 200 yrds from the church and could get no further. My mate was on holiday in Wales, He picked me up on his 900 Trophy, the only sailing we could get was from Stranraer, Rode to Ballymoney went to the funeral paid our respects and rode back. So my mate did, Wales, England, Scotland, and Northern Ireland, and back in 24hrs. I then didn't see him for 2 days.
Easy Tiger Yes next time you are over you need to do the coast roads around Portrush to Ballycastle. I spent some days around there. Usually on a old scrapper and most times with a certain car chasing me and my mates. Wild wild times. The people around there love the Dunlop's and their claim to fame is shared among all. Sadly now gone from us but still hero's. Regards Joe
That sounds like a plan Joe. I must admit it was a quick in and out for Joey's funeral. The troubles were happening, we were told while we were there, that Robert went on RTE television earlier in the week, saying they couldn't get Joeys body back from Estonia because of the trouble. It stopped immediately. After the funeral we rode back to Belfast docks and had a bevi while waiting for the boat. The barman asked us if we'd been for ya mans funeral, and to make sure we were on the boat. You don't want to hang around here tonight. Apparently it all kicked off again that night. ......sad!
