Looking to get my first retro Triumph and much prefer the Scrambler - despite steamy value - due to the poor roads where I live. However wondered if anyone had any views on how the T100 handles poor, muddy and Stoney roads?
Hi David and welcome. Any of the Triumph Classic range can do a certain amount of gentle off-roading but if it's going to be daily usage then the longer travel of the Scrambler will help. It might be a good idea to fit any version with front mudguard extension, engine bash plate etc to protect the finish of the bike you buy. I look forward to seeing how this project develops. Hi David, the single most wonderful thing about this Triumph Classic range is that there is a huge after-market items for making your Triumph, YOUR Triumph. Yes knobblies, yes to different mudguards, yes to just about anything you can dream up. They are the archetypal (not sure if I've spelt that correctly) blank canvass. Bare in mind the Scrambler comes with a 19" front wheel (off-road orientated) and knobblies! But you can get a T100 with a 19" front wheel as well, which means a wide range of knobblies. Dave PS On my T100 I put Thruxton/Scrambler suspension to give longer travel and loads of other mods to make her look and go better and be MINE!
