Hi guys, Took a gamble on ebay and got a bargain Honda Blackbird (reg 2007) with 28k miles for my two motorway 30 mile commute (I couldn't resist @Dozers Dad). Torque in every gear, comfortable and not horrendous on the fuel feels nice. Love the dash. Photos to follow when cleaned up and the weather is actually nice. Any other traitors (sorry owners) cheated on their Triumph with this floozy?
I know you were right but it was a bargain, honestly Had to transfer the Thundercat insurance with my no claims as didn't fancy the 2k bill for insuring the Blackbird from scratch I'm going to repair her and see in the new year but thanks for the advice
180mph you say I never knew I took this on board so I could say I completed a project bike in the new year I'll have a look at the manual cheers.
Aren't all superbikes limited to 300 kph by the ecu, I think I seen somewhere that mine is limited to 250 kph maybe cause it's naked and no fairings.
Hi Gazza and congrats on yer new toy. I test rode one a few years ago and was amazed at the level of competence of the Blackbird. Two fat blokes up and +100 mph in the rain on the M1 - totally stable.
Thanks, it's s a beauty for sure. I'm Triumph-less at the moment after the new 765r went back to the dealer. Wasn't using it enough and want something bullet proof all year round and this ticks the boxes
Gazzatheyid. Great bike will do every thing you want. Not keen on the colour but then I won't ride or own a green bike. Just me. Regards & Ride Safe. Joe.
Dozers Dad Yes I can see the grey in the second picture. Must be a pearlescent paint which is not cheap. Regards Joe.
Congrats on the bike, gazzatheyid! Sounds like a good choice for your current MC needs. But....Triumph-less?! Nooooo! Better start looking. I can help with the research if you like. I love spending other people's money.
My bro-in-law had one of those years back, I was able to ride it a few times. Great bike, very comfortable, very fast!!
Used to have a blue one, was always amazed at the rate it picked up speed. A real hoot to ride but watch for the cameras. Many have electrical gremlins, including mine, between battery, stator and rectifier so look out for that. Good forum CBRXX on the internet with all the technical help you could ever need. Oh and enjoy it, they are fabulous things.
Cheers for the comments chaps. She's been good so far. With how busy my commute has been (even at 630 Am) I've only been able to open her up in short bursts. I sent her away for the clean and AC50 treatment from one of the vendors with allyearbiker I found on the interweb. I'm sure you'll agree she's come up very nice.
