Hi All new to this forum,

I am trying to sort out my sons speed four.

The neutral light does not work. I have checked the switch, and the bulb in the clocks they are fine, I understand there is a diode in the system somewhere but don't know where it's to be found, I also don't have a wiring diagram so that doesn't help much either,

There is no obvious chaffing or damage to the loom, but I was looking at putting a direct feed in, can anyone tell me which pin in the block connector for the clocks is the one for the signal side of the neutral and confirm the colour of the wire, I believe it should be black with white stripe and where the diode is situated, there's lots of little black boxes on the bugger, things used to be so much simpler :)

Thanks in advance ... oh and I ride (occasionally) a Triumph scrambler

Hi Brian on my trophy 900 the neutral sensor is on the left of the engine below the gear changer these have a common fault were they wear down and stop making a connection with the switch in the gearbox housing, one thing you can do is unscrew the sensor and remove the washer that's on the sensor thread then screw it back in this should make a cleaner connection.

Hi, thanks, but the switch works, and even if i earth the lead to it the light doesnt work, so i know its a problem elsewhere

OK.. just in case anyone has this problem in the future..
the neutral is Green/ orange +ve and Black / white -ve from the switch, turned out to be a bad connection on the circuit board in the clocks and a broken wire in the loom, had the engine management light come on after friggin with all the wiring but its now sorted

now ammended to "circuit board", however in your case its more likely to be the switch.
