Thanks, Tiglet. Yes, the Cub's reputation goes before it, but I'll enjoy getting to grips with putting it in some sort of order (I think).

That would certainly be of interest - thanks for letting me know. (I was an East Hull resident for nearly a decade, back in the eighties. Happy days!)

I'm looking forward to hours of frustration, back-ache, skinned knuckles, noxious fumes and penury. Still, a man's got to have a hobby...Thanks for your kind sentiments.

Will be following your project with great interest. Hope you get to put some photos up. I'd set my heart on a Tiger Cub or the Super version when I was fourteen in 1971 and couldn't wait for my sixteenth birthday in March '73. You know what's coming.......the law was changed just before I was sixteen and hence my first bike was one of the first Yamaha FS1-Es in the country (candy gold, that my dad paid £149 for and £4 insurance) Never lost the Triumph bug, despite all the Jap machines I had and the long time away from biking until recently, hence the Bonneville now - better late than never.
Couldn't believe the five and a half grand they wanted for this FS1-E at the Excel show earlier this year.

Welcome to the family. And you though it wise to come here. You don't know what you have let your self in for. Did no one tell you this is the asylum for those beyond any cure. They sit here ogling pictures of bike thinking they will actually speak back to them. So all you have to look forward to now is a white jacket and meds like us. But seriously rebuild your Cub in the builds and restoration section here on the forum and let us all go on the journey with you.
    Regards
    Joe.

Some people like to take industrial quantities of wee wee.o_O

Some people like to relive their misspent youth at any cost.

When the two meet much money changes hands.

Me? I'm too old to fookin' remember my misspent youth. Or was it??:p:blush::cold_sweat:

How's the restoration going? I am restoring a 64 Cub and looking to find some wisdom as I would like to avoid the avoidable stuff and finding parts is going to be tricky it looks like. Also, I don't know what I'm doing.
