i can’t get the feeling that I want a sports bike in the garage to take out for short rides
I know there are more sensible, just as powerful options out there but logic doesn’t feature with me. It’s all in the heart and I just love the look of them

Probably (yet another) late life crisis ffs! I’m 57 and probably won’t be able to move after 10 miles on one

Any of you (ahem) more stately older types still riding on a sports bike occasionally?

Bike ergo shows that I am indeed a knob for even thinking about it

  3. I also love sportsbikes, but i can't ride them
I've had loads over the years, my first mod every single time is fitting fat bars, which more often than not spoils the handling, but makes the riding position more bearable.
I've been plagued with back problems for the last 30 odd years so have had loads of hassle getting comfy on virtually every bike i've had for years, and only been able to make short journeys due to the discomfort - until i discovered my tiger :heart:
I'm 55 and 16 stone, so completely the wrong size and shape for sportsbikes now, although i love them, i'll never own another one.

No longer at 63 as the pain in the hips detracts from the pleasure i used to have riding my old K5, have a few old friends who still kling on to there sports bikes but they never seem to come out riding anymore :-(

Do it I squeeze myself into this and I love it to the extent I’m selling the speed triple to get a faster crotch rocket

Why not take something you like the look of on a long test ride, that way you'll know the answer before parting with your cash

    Fuck off you nosy cunt
My biggest problem is lack of mobility in my ankles, particularly the right one. Makes resting the floor on the brake quite interesting... So the sharper the knee angle the harder it would be for me.

I think the long test ride before you buy is very sound advice.

Sorry Jez but that would be giving me nightmares, you wearing a thong let alone sitting on a dry stone wall covered in thistles whilst wearing it :worried:;)

Well I just purchased the street triple at 62 and love it. You only live once so make it worth while. While I agree a good test ride will help. But you got it in the blood so you will just have to eventually.
    Ride Safe & Enjoy
    Joe.

I spent 4 great hours on my street triple trying to knock out the break in milage covered 340 miles untill my feet started to fall asleep so i headed home. Don't think i could do ciip on handlebars of a sport bike so it's a naked street bike for me at age 60, as the wide handlebars require less pressure. That tiny wind deflector on the front of the new street worked brilliant for my 5'11" body frame until wind speed hit 105 mph then i got a lot of helmet buffeting and helmet lift.

I realise I’m setting myself up for a right kicking, but Pilates is your friend!
Still love my Daytona 955i, just fed up riding in 2nd and 3rd on lanes and B roads around here!

Raised clipons and a reupholstered seat ( the bike’s not mine) help too
    Go for it I reckon.

Yoga may be the answer. Could certainly be tempted...
