Last week I walked through a doorway into a room and actually remembered why I gone in that room...
Mind you, it was the bathroom.
    Ken.

10mm socket, I hope that answers your question. Wait, did you ask a question? Wait, have you seen my 10mm socket? Doesn’t matter I can’t remember what I needed it for. I’m not even sure what size bolt it works on anyway.

I don't worry about my inability to remember things - after all, it's only because my brain is already full!:grinning:

Yep, and I'm still in my forties. Last night was round at a friends and was setting off home.. "Where's my bag?" I was thinking to myself. Looked all over the place and then asked my friend "Have you seen my bag?" "Yes, it's on your back". It was on my back.

Definitely heard of this before Sandi - I think the guy called it the "threshold effect" ie. you forget what you were looking for as soon as you cross the threshold into another room. I've been using this excuse for years now. :D:D

This sort of thing happens a lot. An example from yesterday:

I decided to make myself a cheese, beetroot and onion sandwich. Looked in the cupboard where the onions are kept. No onions! Rummage about - definitely no onions, but to make sure, I take stuff out until I can see to the back of the cupboard, and there are no onions. That's NO onions.

Me to wife, "have you ordered onions?" (Groceries get delivered).
"No, there's an unopened bag of onions in the cupboard."
"No there isn't. I've looked". I instantly regret that my mouth spoke those words out loud.
Wife walks over, opens the cupboard door, reaches in without particularly looking, and pulls out an unopened bag of onions from the front of the cupboard.
How does she do that? Anyone know? It's magical and ever so slightly annoying.
I also found I'd completely gone off the idea of a cheese, beetroot and onion sandwich...

Doesn't work for me - I've often forgotten what I'm doing before I even GET to the damned threshold. I kid you not. My memory is no better than my attention span - and that, like me, is very short indeed!

I loved Glenn Campbell’s method of fixing his memory loss, he said every time he went to the kitchen he couldn’t remember why,
So he stopped going to the kitchen :p.
I find the things I’m looking for when I’m not looking, same as remembering things you’ve been trying to think of.

I was told recently why what you are looking for is found in the last place you look,

It's because when you have found it you stop looking!!!
