Just had my renewal from Hastings Direct at £186. Then I checked on Comparethemarket and got the same insurance with Hastings for £136. However, before I bought It I logged on to Top CashBack.com and searched for Comparethemarket and found that they were offering a £15.75 cashback on Bike Insurance. So I ended up paying £120 vs the original quote of £186, so a saving of £66 plus 1/2 price cinema tickets and meals.

Had a Yamaha YBR125 up until a few weeks ago before I bought my Speed Four. Did a search for insurance for the new bike. I was paying about 150 quid fully comp for the 125 with Hastings Direct. The compare the market search resulted in a quote of 350 for the Triumph which I thought was a bit unreasonable. I gave them a ring and asked how much to change my current policy to the new bike. Ended up being only an extra 87.50. Much better!

When I bought my bike I went to Triumph's own insurance company and got quite cross with them. Very determined they were and also not prepared to call my garage anything other than a shed and more importantly for everyone here, the bike would not be insured unless it was locked in the garage.

This meant that if I was cleaning it on the drive and popped in for a cuppa, and it wasn't there when I went back, no payout.

Insuring it to be on my property added a few hundred £££s. Be careful to check what they mean by garaged overnight, because their idea of A. "garage" and B. "night" is very different from mine.

Went with LV, no such wriggling from them. It pays to read the small print, unfortunately. I hate small print.

currently i insure 7 vehicles, only 2 of which i can "multi" as the others are all classic, or dont fit into the right tick boxes.
So i always use specialist insurers like haggerty or brentacre. I dont bother with the NCD as it isnt applied on the vehicles!!!, i cant get a traders policy because i cant prove im a trader of vehicles, grrrrr
i do generally hate insurers, and i will never go back to the normal ones, even though my missis does.
your right its a market we are forced into, and one where the good guys loose.
    And they know it.
I also think it should be 1 insurance to cover all, like others have said we only ride 1 bike at a a time
We need a revolution or an ombudsmen
