Hi, i have spent some time getting my 2009 America into pristine condition mainly elbow grease. I'm really pleased with the way it looks but those forks.
The bike had only done 6000 kms and has not seen a rainy day but the lacquer is awful and the overall finish looks poor.
Can anyone offer some ideas as to what sort of finish to go for and can it be achieved without professional assistance or shouls i bite the bullet and have them blasted and coated
    thanks

Hi Paul, if I were you I would take the fork legs off and put them on a buffing wheel to remove all the laquer and clean up the surface. Then clean with panel wipe and spray with clear laquer and it'll cost you pennies.

yeah I autosol'd mine & they came up a treat , for me the worst things to keep clean are the wheels , but to be honest they are on all motorbikes , I've had a couple of bikes with white wheels in the past & omfg
