Hi All off to pick up my new (to me) Street Triple tonight. Never owned a British bike i have always riden Japanese or italian bikes. I have had a heavily modified 600 Hornet for the past 5 years but i fancied a change. I was going to buy an Aprilia Shiver but i was warned off them by a friend of mine that works for MCN, he suggested that i look at a Street Triple so i have now bought one without even chucking my leg over one. i really hope all the reviews are right!!
I to moved from a Honda (a CBF600) to my Triumph Speed Triple, and strange enough it wasn't until I had given a £300 deposit and picked her up a couple of days later I realised I hadn't test rode her! Started her up in the shop at the time sure but not taken on the road.. I was lucky, she rode nicely and I took it to my local Triumph dealer and they pointed out a couple of things and sorted them. I am sure your Street Triple will be just fine, nice solid engines and a lot of fun. One thing, I had a loan Street III bike while my Speedy was in for a service and the mirrors were awful, couldn't adjust them and they just seemed wrong. Happy riding.
It's just a new bike Badger, nothing to get excited about. Looking forward to hearing all about your new toy.
All that's great but it got me thinking now - have I got space for one ??? Badge could you do me a favour please? Assuming your speedo and odo are digital, can you check if you can swap between miles and kilometers? Apparently it's done by pressing button A until 'units' appears, then press B then press A to switch between the different units ie Miles, kilometers. I would like to know from which year this feature is std. as I'm seriously looking at getting one. Cheers Dave
hiya Badger , that's a very nice looking machine , love the Arrow silencers , very pretty . see you're from the big city , do you ever get to the woods or motortown or any of the other local bike meets
on the A46 at Faldingworth , on the way to Willingham woods if you go that way , they do a decent breakfast there , I often go to south leverton wed bike nights & sometimes the Tuesday ones at the star & garter at metheringham
