Hi. I'm Nigel from West Midlands in England. When I saw the MCN (UK) report of the proposed Triumph Daytona Moto 2 replica, I knew I had to have one. Hounded my dealer the next day, and it was deny, deny, deny. Went on a Triumph Factory Tour on 5 July and was met with more deflect and deny. Some days later I was invited to 'express interest' with a deposit. There has been much carrot dangling and media hype over this bike, but I am pleased to say that I am fortunate enough to have secured this 'supposedly' limited edition as my first ever Triumph, hence my membership to this forum. As history, I bought my first bike at 17-years-old, a brand new Honda CB 175. Had it for only twelve months before 'graduating' to the then new Honda CB 750 K1. Some two years' later I transformed it to a racing bike. After marriage and family I bought a new VF 750 in 1984, but it became the victim of a divorce battle. Stayed away from bikes for a few years. Two years ago I had a hankering to re-mount! Bought an as new CBR250R which served as a great reintroduction. It also made me realise what I had missed. I few months later (November 2017) I traded up to a 2011 Fireblade. What a transition! I have since gone overboard in acquiring some nice bikes. I’m an active member of some other motorcycling forums and look forward to equal participation on here.
Welcome to the forum Nigel, congratulations on securing one of the new Daytonas, did they give you a rough idea on delivery date?
Hi and welcome, seen a pic of the bike just the the other day on twitter and it looks absolutely awesome, your a lucky man, enjoy!!!!!!
There is still a wall of silence over this. No price, no 'official' specs, and no definitive delivery date other than the vague 'March 2020'. Full announcement will be made by Triumph at the Silverstone Moto GP (Aug 25). No question of 'if' it emerges. The bike's definitely a goer. Word is from my dealer that the total UK allocation of 236 sold in four hours yesterday when Triumph asked dealers for pre-order deposits. Could be more hype, but the Rocket (TFC maybe) as many members will know, was sold out before official release.
This is supposedly a picture of the prototype Daytona Moto 2. ??? if so as I said, awesome looking machine
Yep, I'll be more than pleased if it's released like that. Some of the UK hype shows a very uninspiring artist's impression:
Welcome aboard Nige. Enjoy the ride when you get the Daytona buddy, It'll be a blast if it's anything like the Street Triple Specials* we've built at Woburn. *Shameless plug
Welcome to the forum, Nigel, and congrats on securing a new Daytona! And welcome also to the wonderful world of Triumphs!
ooo so you where one of the 756 lucky people to get a UK released one jealous.. Apparently the dealers had to sign a Non Disclosure agreement until triumph announced it all very hush hush stuff. But at least when triumph say its gonna be a limited run it will be
Hi Nigel and welcome to the forum congratulations on your booking. Found two guys I ride with have booked the limited Rocket, so lots to look forward too.
I was on my dealer's doorstep the day after I saw the feature in MCN (Motorcycle News UK) on Feb 6th. It's been deny and deflect all along until last week. I think we would all have to feel for those who get all enthusiastic upon seeing the bike properly released and are then told that they're all sold! Rocket also was said to have been all sold prior to official release. Doesn't happen with Hondas!!
